Well...

The little guy who has been with us for a bit is still here. He could be gone at anytime. Talk about learning how to take life as it comes...one day at a time.

I know this is how we are to live...ONE DAY AT A TIME. Every once in a while I think I have mastered taking life as it unfolds...but once again...I have been humbled as we muddle our way through this placement.

I just do not have any clue how this will all play out. And for a control freak like me...it is shaking my heart right to the core.

I have nothing profound to add at this point, just felt like venting a little bit....

It has been awhile...

Since we have played with our blog.
We have been hunkered down in our winter den..
trying to stay warm and content while we wait for the crocus to peek thru the leftover snow.
The girls have been busy playing big sister to several little people who have come for a visit and then made their way back home.

Mae loves this version of a verse that has been a favorite over the years.
We thought you might be encouraged and challenged as we have been!
1 Peter 3:8
Be like one big happy family
Full of kindness towards each other
Loving each other with tender hearts
and humble minds!

The Tiger as interpreted by Mac

A Fable as Rewritten by Mac....

The Clever Hunter Who Killed the Proud Tiger

An honest, clever hunter, who was amazingly skilled,
stalked the wild animals that lived in his woods.
The animals hid because they were frightened. At sunrise, the hunter
quietly crept into the dewy forest.
An arrogant tiger, who believed that he could kill the
hunter instantly, was sharpening his claws on some rocks.
The tiger planned a suprise attack because
he was trying to get attention. The tiger boastfully bragged, "I’m going to sneak
through the trees and pounce upon that hunter."
As the drooling tiger fiercely roared, the hunter dashed
to investigate.
The tiger, who quickly turned around, spied
the hunter behind a tree. He leaped at the hunter. The
hunter aimed carefully.
The arrow zipped through the air and pierced the tiger’s chest. As he died he whispered, "I
will never kill the hunter because my pride killed me."

Happy Christmas to you!

Happy Christmas
2008
The snow is falling
On this cold winter’s day,
We greet you this year,
Merry Blessings today!
Mac takes such care.
So helpful and kind,
While dancing and prancing,
To the tunes in her mind.
Mae is the cuddliest
Hug-buggliest friend,
She will love you forever,
Always there to the end.
Li-Li’s SO big,
A whopping age two.
Her new favorite thing..
Making hand prints with glue.
Jeff is our rock,
Everyday we’re amazed,
That he is the one
Who walks through the days.
Looking after us all,
With the greatest of care.
A gift from our Lord,
That we all get to share.
So rejoice with us now,
Another year has just passed.
But the blessing of family...
And friendship will last.
Much love to you all!

Jeff, Kat, Mac, Mae, and Lil’ Li-Li

Every once in a while...

I stumble upon something that just really hits home. If any of you have loved ones who struggle with a chronic illness...please read The Spoon Theory.
Many Blessings to you all!

Needing to take a break, I grabbed some art books and let the kids have at it.
Mac's version of a piece by Henry Stacy Marks.
Taking a day off can be the most productive move one could make!
